Music

Amberley Almarode leads our Music Program through the Church Choirs. Here you will find a description of choirs available. There is a spot waiting to be filled by you!

Chancel Choir

Singing in a variety of styles, this choir includes traditional hymns and newer music. Rehearsal is Wednesday evenings at 6:15 pm in the sanctuary. This choir sings during the Traditional worship services at 10:30 am. The choir also sings for special events throughout the year (Christmas Eve services, special music during Lent and Holy Week, etc).

Seasonal Christmas/Easter Cantata

Seasonal cantatas are offered for Christmas (sung on a Sunday before Christmas in December) and Easter (usually sung at the 10:30 service on Easter Sunday). Cantata practice for Christmas begins in early September and Cantata practice for Easter begins in early January. Practice is held in the sanctuary on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm for each season. Practice CDs are available for each voice part so you can practice at home.

Handbell Choir

We also offer a handbell choir that offers music seasonally at Christmas and Easter. Previous handbell experience is not necessary. Music reading ability is helpful, but not necessary. If you are interested in learning to play a new instrument and be part of this fun choir, please come check it out! Practice is on Thursday evenings from 6:30-8:00 pm in the sanctuary.

Praise Band

The praise band leads worship at the 9:00 service the second through fifth Sundays of each month. If you play an instrument or sing, and are interested in joining the praise band, please talk to Amberley. Practice is on Wednesday evening at 7:45 pm in the sanctuary.

First Praise Youth Choir

Youth of all ages 5 and older are invited to sing in this group. Throughout the year, we bring both contemporary music as well as traditional camp songs to the congregation during Sunday services.  Sherry Arnold directs and practices are Tuesdays 5:30-6:00 pm.  Contact the church office for details on joining.
